20th edition of the medieval walled town of Monflanquin, rated one of the most beautiful villages in France
Sunday, August 15
"Hear ye, hear ye good people!"
Departure at 7:30 Mondonville towards Monflanquin.
Present at the Thomas ride, Sandrine, Jean-Claude Michel and Lysiane, Cedric and Karine, Fabrice and Sandrine, Vincent and Veronica.
For Michael and Lysiane was their first outing motorcycle "Airbusiens"!
They spent a very pleasant day and found the group very nice!
Weather wise, as so aptly Evelyne Dheliat Catherine Laborde and other weather girl "in the morning, temperatures were below normal, the mercury could not stop falling, we can say that was downright chilly for Jean-Claude, was 13.2 degrees rather because it was cold at your fingertips .... but Vincent was rounded with a small 13.5 degrees "
Suddenly, pitstop 9.30, a good coffee was needed to warm up the troops!
In late morning until mid afternoon, the situation has improved, thanks to the sun, temperatures rebounded, the maximum was 25 degrees.
But by mid-afternoon the clouds flit above our heads were gaining ground, the sky was variable, the sudden we felt a little moisture but these small localized showers were punctuated with bright, a little nudge from "Combard" (as Vincent puts it) and did not speak well, we did still do not let a few drops falling!
To return to the festivities: the entire village of Monflanquin disguised himself and has lived as the Middle Ages, at the time of its creation, in the 13th century.
Animations in the streets (music, skits, medieval market ...) were held without interruption throughout the village. Troubadours sang and danced and many games were presented on the Place des Arcades is heart of the Bastide. Monflanquin really kept all the charm of the walled city.
We have seen in the morning in a parade, a horse show and a show with snakes.
12.30 rallying cry "to taaaaable!"
We had lunch at the "Black Prince Pub" where some of us ate "local", they appreciated the good local produce (foie gras with caramelized apples and the rhubarde duck ... ") You will soon see photos to judge!
Arrival in Toulouse around 18h
